Free walking tours in Dublin
GetYourGuide sells no free walking tour in Dublin. None of the 216 Dublin tours we checked there is free.
Free tours are booked on other sites. GuruWalk, one such site, says you book at no cost and pay the guide what you think the tour was worth at the end. Its listings say most free tours start at the Spire on O'Connell Street and take about 2 to 2.5 hours.
A paid tour costs from €17 here. In return you get a fixed price, free cancellation and a group size set in advance on some walks.
Walking tours of Dublin, Ireland
For a first visit, take the Highlights walk from Temple Bar. It has the most reviews of any walk here.
For a smaller group, pick the Bucket List walk, with up to 10 people. For Trinity College, pick the city centre walk: it goes through the college grounds.
Historical and 1916 walking tours in Dublin
None of our picks is a walk about the 1916 Rising alone. For Dublin's history, pick Pat Liddy's Historic Highlights. It covers more than 2,000 years in 2.5 hours.
The Bucket List walk also covers the old city, from Viking-era Christ Church to Dublin Castle. For writers, the Museum of Literature Ireland is the place to go.
Dublin city tours on foot or by bus
Walk if you want stories and side streets. Take a bus if you want to see a lot sitting down.
Tired legs or little time? A hop-on hop off Dublin bus covers the same sights sitting down.
